MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the annual Bachelor Blast trip, to be held March 12-16, 2025, with flexible dates (2-4 nights) and even flexibility if you want to come a day early or stay longer.  We are again staying at The Element Bend, the same hotel as last year and the best hotel we have ever had for this trip!  There is free parking; every room has a kitchen, and there is a wonderful breakfast, including hot dishes made to order.  The hotel has a hosted happy hour Monday-Thursday, and we plan a hosted event on Saturday night.  Rates will be based upon the (flexible) number of nights you plan to stay:  $375 for 4 nights, $295 for 3 nights, or $210 for two nights (all per person, double occupancy).  The signup forms will be posted as soon as Bachelor publishes their winter rates.  If you have the Ikon Pass, you have either 5 or 7 days free skiing at Mt. Bachelor!

The FWSA North American Ski Week 2025 will be to BANFF, CANADA.  Dates for this trip will be January 25 – February 1, 2025.

Skiyente Ski Club a waiting list on a trip to Big White Ski Resort January 16-21, 2025. The cost of $479 per person (double occupancy) covers 5 night's lodging, welcome cocktail party, hosted party with appetizers, and Saturday night dinner. S'no Joke Ski Club trip to Zermatt - February 7 to February 15, 2025, or February 18 with optional 3-day extension in Zurich.  The trip is open to members of other ski clubs, as well as S'no Joke members.  See TRIPS for details about this amazing trip!  If your club doesn't have enough people to run a Europe trip on your own, this is your chance to join with others on a preplanned trip! 

S’no Joke also has spots available to members of other clubs ($50 nonmember fee) on their Mt. Bachelor Trip February 17-21, 2025. See TRIPS for details.

In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, former VP of Marketing for Mt. Hood Meadows ski area, Dave Tragethon, announced the launch of a heartwarming children's book, "Willow's Second Chance." This book not only aims to educate the young minds about the environment and the impact of climate change but also supports the Well Done Foundation's (www.welldonefoundation.org) mission to rehabilitate orphan oil and gas wells across the nation. See Article below for complete details. Dave was the winner of the Environment Award at the FWSA Convention in Reno!

We are always looking for volunteer support from our clubs to keep us moving forward.  More directors of NWSCC help increase the representation of all member clubs.  What talent (writing, website design, organization) can you bring to NWSCC Board of Directors?   What can YOU offer, is there something you feel we should be doing better?   There are several opportunities to jump in. 

NWSCC conducts board meetings via Zoom, making it easier for "out of town" (i.e., out of Portland area) members to actively engage and participate.  Please contact us at president @nwskiers.org.

A written history of NWSCC and those clubs who responded to our request for information is available and will be sent to all club presidents in order that they can read and edit their information, and for previously non-responding clubs to send us their information.
